Head of Sales

We are looking for an experienced individual to lead the company’s sales activities. This role is to take overall responsibility for sales in our Bedford branch and to set and develop a growth strategy for the company as a whole. It carries high levels of responsibility for spearheading proactive sales initiatives and building long-term customer relations.

Responsibilities

- Lead Columbia Metals’ existing sales function

- Direct and monitor sales proactivity initiatives

- Develop new business and grow existing sales for UK and international markets

- Evaluate and report opportunities and strategies

- Review the existing sales strategy and implement business models for all market segments

- Regular sales performance reporting

Requirements

- A proven track record in the sale of non-ferrous alloys, in particular copper and nickel-based products

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- Experience of team management and implementation of proactive sales initiatives

- Ability to think strategically and proactively identify new opportunities

- A demonstrable record of success in developing new business

- A hunger to succeed and exceed established KPIs

Sales Executive

We have an excellent opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our Bedford headquarters as a Sales Executive. This role involves developing new business and growing existing sales, with an emphasis on proactively identifying sales opportunities. It would suit a candidate who has experience of sales and a drive to engage with prospective customers.

Responsibilities

- Actively participate in sales proactivity, including customer visits, under the guidance of the branch manager

- Develop new business and grow existing sales for the branch

- Deal with incoming enquiries to complete all aspects of the order process

- Work with internal resources to identify new business opportunities

- Provide regular feedback on sales performance and market trends

- Develop a thorough understanding of customer requirements on a business and technical level

Requirements

- Experience of sales within the B2B environment, preferably within the metal stockholding industry

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- Ability to think strategically and proactively identify new opportunities

- A demonstrable record of success in developing new business

- Willingness to travel when required

The successful applicant will ideally have a background in selling copper and nickel alloys. A demonstrable track record of success within the B2B environment would be an advantage.
